You'll see right away what an absolute know-nothing I am, please be kind. I want to try to build a simple little amplifier just to sort of apply the basics while I'm learning them. I've chosen to try this one: 50EH5 Single-Ended (SE) DIY Tube Amplifier Project, because it looks like it fits my requirements (which are just that it doesn't look too complicated).
I've found the tube that's called for, but it doesn't come with any sort of receptacle to plug the tube in to. I have to admit to not knowing the first thing about reading schematics (I plan on learning as I go...I hope that's not terribly stupid).
In the picture, it looks like I should be locating a receptacle with 12 holes in it (I just counted them up), but when I shop online for receptacles, a 12 hole one doesn't seem to be an option.
How do I know which receptacle goes with which tube, is my question.

Well, you can start with the spec sheet for 50eh5, which shows it being a miniature 7 pin tube.

Or search fleabay for 7 pin miniature sockets. They should be plentiful and affordable.

The obvious is being overlooked. You say your tube has 12 pins on it and it is a 50EH5. Both can't be true, since a 50EH5 has 7 pins. Take another look at the tube.
Sorry, I meant that looking at the schematic, not the tube, I see 12 pins. I just ordered the tube, I haven't seen it in person.

Where are you seeing 12 pins? As mentioned, the 50EH6 is a 7 pin tube.
You can try Apex Jr. for some super-bargain 7 pin sockets.
