yes i love the sound too.But want to learn that how many volts should i apply. My calculations are not as same as F5 manual.
On manual it is written that it has 15.15db gain.so when there is 1.3volts p-p in the input it outputs 40v p-p but it does not ?
No this is not correct. How did you end up with 40V p-p?
15dB is an amplification of approximately 6.
Pardon.Voltage gain is root square of power gain and it makes approximately 5,6 . ok i see now
So F5 should need a preamp.People say they can fully drive it with their computer soundcard.how?
By using the +4dB setting. 4dBU ~4 V p-p, or 20V P-P with gain of 5 V/V, which is max output for F5.
It is not possible with soundcards and sources that only do consumer level 2V p-p or regular line output 0.775 VRMS.

I apply +4db setting.Volume gets higher but not full.when i connect soundcard to my denon amp and use it's headphone out I get full power then.

db is logarithmic😀. 10^15db/20db delivers voltage amplification of 5,6x

15.15dB is equivalent to 5.72 timesOn manual it is written that it has 15.15db gain.so when there is 1.3volts p-p in the input it outputs 40v p-p but it does not ?
1.3V @ input becomes 7.43V @ output.
1Vac becomes 5.72VAC.
The power delivered to an 8r0 load is 4.1W or about 15% of maximum power.
Yes i see.I think i should build a preamp.which pre can sound best with F5?Is there a preamp choice that makes good synergy? Maybe a little of F5 ?
I joined to group buy for B1.but F5 needs gain.So i do not know what to do. Maybe get 4xgain with Opa627 and after that connect B1 and after that F5
umut1001 read your own signature.... are you sure you want an opamp preamp?
Best opamp is no opamp. If really needed build a discrete opamp.
the F5 has gain.F5 needs gain.
It's maximum output is ~22Vpk.
It's maximum input is ~3.8Vpk. This is equivalent to 2.7Vac.
The F5 does not need more gain.
Low output sources may need more gain, using a low gain amplifier rather than a unity gain buffer.
But what is the point. You are using a damaged sound card and complaining it does not give enough volume and that is starts to distort after a short while.
Maybe the F5 and your source are compatible if you get the damaged sound card replaced or repaired.

opa627 is not an opamp. It is another musical thing hehe 😀

No, it cant be that simple!?!?!

There is something very wrong. I suspect some resistors are turned wrong forcing the electrons to move in the wrong direction and thus cause distortion. 😀

I bridged the sound cards low quality 47uf caps.emu1212m users said these caps are not very necessary. And sound really very improved. But after 2-3 hours it gets distorted. When i restart the computer it is ok then.I did not understand
