EVX150A for sub use?

Just wondering if I could tune a EVX150A low enough to get some usable sub response.

Please define you're requirements. Off-hand, that's a 1400W (AES spec) driver, with little xmax.

Looking for high efficency

Xmax is .250

power handling is 1000watts long term.

EV themselves used that driver in their MT4 boxes

If you're not using it in a setup that requires much cone motion, I'm sure they're great. I'm sure they're great for a bass amp speaker, too, when properly high-passed.

Uh, no they didn't. The EVX150A is a 15" driver and the MT4 uses 4 18" drivers.

The MTL4 used the small magnet 18s, not the large magnet 15s.

The EVX150A should work well in a tapped horn subwoofer for home use.

Don't you mean stewed ( in their own juice ) quite good if you use plenty of salt and chillie
