SEAS 10" woofers H1305 (CA26RFX) or H1209 (L26RFX/P) OR ....?

Has anyone used either of these woofers in DIY?
There quite a few posts about smaller SEAS drivers that, generally, speak highly of them but virtually nothing about the larger drivers.
I have 8" Peerless 830868 as woofers in 3 way actives and am hankering for a 10" woofer in their place. They are crossed at 300Hz with LR 24dB.
I was looking at the 10" SB Acoustics but, while they are listed as having 88dB at 2.83 V 1m sensitivity, the response graph shows 10dB less sensivity. I am a bit wary now.
If not the SEAS, does have anyone have any suggestions, either for sealed or vented but with an upper box size of 60-70 litres? (Would love ScanSpeaks but close to $AU500 is a bit too much.)

The choice is large
Peerless 830668 ? 42L closed box the 12" 830669 70L closed box.
Otherwise Seas the L26RFX 50L closed box or 70L@24Hz
CA26RFX 74L@34Hz
CA26RE4X 60L@34Hz
Or the D1001-04 L26ROY 45L@27Hz.

it depends on your budget and your taste.

Hi Francec, The only 10" drivers I have any experience with are no longer available. I've looked at a lot recently due to the three way reference thread, and the CA26RFX seems to have some consensus as being the driver that will be chosen there. The Seas you mentioned models well in a vented enclosure between 66 and 72L. You might want to have a read through the three way reference thread as quite a few drivers were discussed there.

Tony.

Hello. I use the Seas L26RFX/P in 50 L closed box. Really like how they sound. I'm running them up to 120Hz/LR24 with active xo. Deep, tight and precise bass. I guess the big issue is if they'll have enough Xmax for your needs. I use two of them pr. side and that's enough for my needs.

Hi Johan,
Two per side? So you have two 50 litre compartments in one speaker?
What are you using after 120Hz?

Frank
Yes, but in a separate enclosure just like a subwoofer, but with a higher lowpass than usual. I use Tannoy Sandringham from 120Hz and up. I enjoy the Tannoys, but wanted a bit deeper and weightier bass. The L26RFX goes deeper and also give a more precise bass than the Tannoys alone.

I haven't measured, but I think the L26 goes down into the low twenties when roomgain is factored in. Midbass/upper bass is excellent. Perhaps not the best choice for heavy soundtracks, but for music I think the L26 is very good. Should easily reach a 300Hz x-over. If I should try to describe the sound in bass-region it would probably be something like clean and well-behaved.

Johan,
They look great. I like "clean and well-behaved". I don't want any colouration; if the CD is badly produced, I'd rather hear what is on the CD rather something I think I want to hear. Clear, objective sound is the name of the game for me.
The Xmax seems as good as most 10" drivers so they are prime candidates.
