2nd Annual Cardas Bulk Purchase

This Order is Closed

Thank you to whoever started this page.

Information

This page is for those interested in participating in the 2004 Cardas Bulk Purchase.

The followiing is some preliminary information that may be helpful.

[This is the Cardas site] with brief descriptions of all the parts.

Only the parts on [this list] will be included in the bulk purchase.

[Here is the Cardas RCA Bulk Purchase WIKI] FROM LAST YEAR.

[Here is proof that Peter is behind this whole thing.] It has a lot of info on the binding post.

[Here is proof that I'm a glutton for punishment.] It has a lot of info on RCA's.

[PayPal] is by far my prefered method of payment.

USPS is my prefered shipper and the only shipper to outside of the US.

What You Need To Do Now

Again, the only thing you need to do now is send me an email request for pricing, which I will send to you when I have it.

The Pricelist

Starting tomorrow (02/19/04) I will start sending the pricelist out to those who have sent me an email requesting the pricelist.

If you have not requested the pricelist by email to me at rodyama@comcast.net you should do so by Monday (02/23/04) to ensure your participation in this bulk purchase.

Ordering Parts

I have struggled with how to take the orders so that everyone knows what they are ordering, including me.

3 Ways to Order
1.) I will send you an spreadsheet as an order form. I will send this spreadsheet to each of you that have requested the pricelist. I will send the spreadsheet as a .cvs file.

2.) I will also send a text file which you can use as an order form if you cannot open the spreadsheet.

3.) If you are unable to send or receive files, you will need to copy the parts list from below and paste it into your email. Than add the quantities of each item you require directly into your email.

You can place your order as soon as you have received the price list. Ordering will end on March 13th at midnight, EST.

Be Aware of the Additional Cost to You
Everyone will have to pay Shipping & Handling (From me to you and DIYCable to me). There is also a 3% (4% outside of the US or Canada) PayPal charge.

Payment

I will not be able to float the purchase from DIYCable. Therefore I will need all payments by (a date to be determined) before I will be able to order the parts for everyone.

I will accept payment by the same methods as HiFiZen? did in the Aleph-X board purchase. As follows with PayPal being the overwhelmingly prefered payment method.

All payments must be in US currency, no exceptions. I will accept:

I will reply to each order and provide the total payment required. Please do not make your payment without my reply.

1.) [PayPal] to rodyama@comcast.net - This is the preferred method. It is quick, secure, and low-cost. In order to accept credit card payments via PayPal, I have upgraded my account to Premier status, so there is a small charge for every transaction. If you send payment by PayPal, please add 3% in the US or Canada and 4% elsewhere to cover this fee. Please try to use this method, it saves me a lot of work.

2.) Money Orders in US Dollars. These may be drawn from a bank, post office, Bidpay service, or wherever. I will provide my shipping address so you know where to mail your money order (it is a US address).

3.) Personal cheques drawn on US banks. Please allow additional time for your cheque to clear before the (date to be determined) deadline. I will provide my shipping address so you know where to mail your money order (it is a US address).

4.) Western Union for some international orders where other methods are not available is acceptable, but not desireable. If you plan to use Western Union, please send me an email with the subject "Cardas Purchase via Western Union", and I will reply with the details.

5.) Cash. This is a last resort! I recommend you do not send cash in the mail, but if you have no alternative, or you feel safe doing so, I have no reason to turn it down. I highly recommend you disguise the cash as something else, and make sure it is not visible from outside of the envelope. If you send cash, YOU ACCEPT THE RISK OF LOSS - I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CASH LOST IN THE MAIL! If it goes missing, there is nothing I can do. For your reference, I had 1 reported missing cash payment out of 3 cash payments sent in the last group order...

I will not accept wire transfers, as they are extremely expensive and very slow in the North America. My apologies to the Europeans, as I know this is a common and inexpensive payment method in Europe.

Shipping

Everything will be shipped via USPS

I again defer this explination mostly to that provided by HiFiZen?.

United States:
Orders will ship by USPS Priority Mail service, which costs $4.00 for all orders up to 16oz / 1-lb and $1 more for orders up to 32oz / 2-lb. For larger orders, will cost more. Priority Mail service is not insured, so if you wish to have insurance, please add that cost and make a specific request for insurance in your email. There are also for shipping from DIYCable to me and packaging.

Canada:
USPS Global Priority Mail will be used. Small orders will be sent in GPM Flat-Rate envelopes under 32oz / 2-lb at $7USD for any Canadian destination. The flat-rate envelopes cannot be insured, so if you desire insurance, a different option will be required, and you will need to determine the cost at USPS. It is sometimes more economical to Canada to ship Air Parcel, but you are more apt to get delays through customs and it will take much longer.

International:
Combined orders will be handled separately - I will work with each group organizer to arrange the details. Otherwise, international orders will ship by USPS. Generally, Global Priority Mail (GPM) is the best choice, but check with me first to see if there is GPM service to your country, and what the rate is. Flat-rate envelopes are usually cheaper, but not insured.
