Hi all,

I need to get my hands on some substitutes for the 2SA1837 transistor.

Various searches have led to the following possible alternatives (all available from Mouser by necessity):

FJP1943
MJE15033
MJE15035
MJE5850

I'm leaning toward the MJE15035 - is this a decent choice?

If you have to get original, then much cheaper at Kessler, unless you only want one :

Sadly, non-Mouser suppliers are not an option. I've learned the hard way not to trust my postal system, so have to go with FedEx, DHL, etc, which usually costs around $60. Crazy expensive when you convert it into my currency. Mouser offers free DHL on orders over $150, so it's a no brainer to order from them.
