I would be interested to clone a small-medium power Electrocompaniet amplifier like the AW 65, AW 70 or AW 75
Did somebody clone any of these? and can help me with the schematics, pcb and build info (or any of these Thanks in advance! |

Nobody?
![]() I would be interested in cloning the AW70 model, so a schematics or service manual would be highly appreciated! Thanks! |

You could send an email to Andy Pairo to thank him for his files :

Thanks! I found and downloaded those files but unfortunately the AW-70 file actually contains the schematics of an older EC model, the AW75, and not the AW70

I do not see the point, all mentioned (under 100W) amps are fairly useless with "difficult" loads, and have wooly bass...look for a newer EC design, if you first are going to try.

IMO, that old AW75 is the best sounding amp EC ever made.

I'm not so fortunate to hear an AW75 or to compare it to other EC amps, but if something is so damn good why someone would modify it.
I presume that EC amps evolve thus a design that is 10 years older might have some minor flows that had been addressed in newer ones like the AW60 or AW70. Of course it might be just marketing hype, they have to come out with newer models after 10 years. Maybe I would tell the difference between AW75 and AW70, but that's another story

For domestic use in a 20-30m2 room 70W would be more than enough for me, I don't want to blow my neighbors. If nobody has the AW70 I might give a try for the AW120. |
