The supplier of the Sophia's has graciously agreed to send me the converter that they used and which showed no problems with buzzing. I will be comparing it to the one I purchased and if there is an audible difference (i.e. quieter) the AIRLINK will be going back!
Should have the replacement by friday.

Got the sellers' converter that they say they had no problems with! ~ It is useless! ~ It's a 100v converter for a pair of 120v amps; needless to say it doesn't work properly/sounds dreadful! So it's going back at their expense. It's another AIRLINK and looks identical to mine but the spec. is different.
Be taking the amps to local Hi-Fi specialist repair centre to see if there is a problem/fault? Seems unlikely that both amps develop the same fault at the same time! So, maybe it's just an unfortunate aspect of the design/quality?
Other owner's have reported this too apparently!

This sounds remarkably like brainwashing to me, some military organisations do very similar things
I am not talking about things like "the Moonies", Scientology, Warren Jeffs (FLDS), Waco, Jones-town, etc. I am talking about people like: The Dali Lama of Tibet, Sri Ramakrishna and other great luminaries
ADDENDUM: (to post 315 in this thread)...
...having disposed of the Sophia amps in favour of a John Wood 6L6 (UK - 230v) power amp, I can now say definitively that the CARY 100t DAC does have improved performance following the upgrade i.e. it just sounds better to me, and that's all that matters - surely?
