Thanks for asking, the project is almost done since last night... just some little adjustments ;-) and this morning was the first listening session (sorry neighbours ;-))
Just didn't have time to post untill now. I'm really happy about this project, my holiday week is wel spent
I'm missing the oemph from the sub, as I can't seem to get sound from the little Creative sub (it uses a 3.5mm jack as in/output). I will be checking that later today
Currently I'm still wearing my pink glasses, so sound is subjective... But yeah I'm still with a joker smile in my sofa.
I can say that with the coil and resistor that I hear a difference when I place my ear to the side and back of the speaker... you don't hear the sound vibrations anymore. (Who knew, technology ;-))
Currently my center speaker doesn't have a coil and resistor... but that was because I was undecided if I would go for that design. But now with this set, I think I'm gonna keep it and order some.
So without further ado, here are some pictures

So here are also some pictures during my building proces, I learned some new stuff and making some tweeks as I got along.
I still had to use an mdf disk after routing my circles into the bowls, because you ended up with around 2mm of bamboe wood... I wanted to play it save and added some more for the screws.
My homemade jig is what made this project possible, it's not the safest way to do it... But a steady hand and patience was all I needed. With the second bowl there was a little error because the remaining wood brook when I was almost full circle. I toucht it up with some paste from glue and bamboe dust.

Yeah I'm reall happy about how this project turned out. And thanks for the complement, that's always nice to hear ;-)
I got the sub to work, first I tried a 3.5mm jack to RCA (didn't work, no audio or buzzing) So I made one myself cut off a cheap headphone jack and soldered a rca onto it. That also didn't work, but I got a buzzing sound so I knew it should work. I tried another 3.5mm jack to rca cable and that did in fact work (I just have to turn the volume and the bass boost to max on the sub itself, just turning volume up isn't enough)
So for now its OK, but I will be on the lookout for a new sub if something catches my eye... Or I will still maybe make my own. Klipsch R-10SW or a Jamo J 10 is a nice design. But why are most subs so ugly, after so many years I would think they have some new inspiring design's?
Now that I have listened to them some more I can say that now I can be in my kitchen or bathroom and the audio is playing in my living room, I can still hear and understand all that is said from lyrics or whatever is on TV/game. The sound is alot clearer then that Creative set, I could only hear mumbling and not really understand what was being said back then. So that's also a plus about these drivers.
So thanks for all the help, I think otherwise that this project would've turned out different.
Now I have to find some time to read through the manual of this Onkyo receiver, as it's my first I gotta know what all those buttons do and also use the microphone to set the volume for my room.
