The CD960 is built like a tank but circuitry looks very much the same as the CD650. I have experience with two CD650's and I find the CD931 much better as a transport. I don't use the built in Bitstream DAC though it is not very bad.

CD931 really is not well designed. There are several nicer machines between CD650 and CD931.
Positive is that CD931 has CDM9 which is quite OK. Now compare with an Arcam with CDM9 in it, you'll be surprised.

Hi ,
The DAC960 has the TDA1541 inside and a Philips receiverchip.
I am not a fan of the TDA1541 but others are. In the Pooge Chronicles and in the Audio Amateur a lot of mods are presented by Walt Jung and Hampton Childress.😉

AFAIK it contains a selected TDA1541, a good PS and something else.. I think it can be a good candidate for a non-OS modding; least but not last it has balanced outputs...

CD950/951 is not *very* similar to CD931. They have the same case but not the same mainboard. IIRC CD950/951 has TDA1547.
