dipswitch settings, speakers connections/phase

Hello Irribeo, sorry for the very delayed reply
Here are the dipswitch settings on my Weiner
SW1 1=1; 2=1; 3=0; 4=0
SW2 1=0; 6=0 all the rest of the switches in between are set to 1

My speakers are Tannoy Mercury V1i bookshelves on stands. I am pretty sure they are not out of phase.

1.2MHz 1SPW 26dB with speakers that form slightly overdamped filter with 15uH/0.47uF, so outputfilter ringing precaution for 1SPW operation seems taken care off imo. Selecting energy savings modulation with 1200kHz max switching speed seems a little irrational, but probably makes it sound warmer.

I was surprised my switching frequency was set so high.
I adjusted down to 400MHz. I will listen and see what the effect of lowering the switching frequency.
What does the 1SPW setting do? Would it be helpful to change this setting?

Different modulation scheme to lower power consumption I think. Slightly higher THD/N according to TI, I think it has a little less treble resolution, sounds a little warmer, some people probably like it.

Checked screw's all connections ? A Wiener has significantly more bass output here than a standard Sanwu. The opposite result is strange, has it been powered for 2 years continiously ? Also powered on when not listening I mean ? External powersupply was new and branded product ?

This board looks like a clone of one of mine. But mine has a number of markings and label on the bottom side of the PCB. The one I have sounded pretty good without adding anything. For someone who wants to check out these inexpensive amps, not a bad choice.

Almost everything they could think off to reduce performance of the tpachip has been implemented, not a bad choice.
Also available with 1k volumepot, unfortunately eliminating one nice mismatch, but promising, when carefully mismatched to source.

Hi,I would like to ask for help with some amplifier issues that i'm experiencing. So I 've bought two of tpa3118 mono boards dirt cheap and I'm getting some annoying white noise /hiss issues . As showed in previous posts I removed 100k resistor in order to lower the gain thus reduce the hiss, but such reduction did't occur in significant maner, the hiss is still loud.

Here are pics of testing set up ,I'm using 16,8v (18650 with bms) battery pack.
Connecting signal source doesn't bring any improvement on hisss situation, just saying though.

Well, the daisy-chaining of power is (at least) A problem, if not the root-cause of your issues.

You want power wires running to your two amps, from the same "starting points".

In addition to that, syncing up the two amps might not hurt either... That plus the stock gain setting that, from what i've read here, is maxed out on these blue boards.

Same with grounded/shorted input?

Same with only one board connected to the battery?

I'm running those borards in this box , I'd say that they sound decent enough for the price .

I am confused about the big holes besides the thermal pad. What is their purpose?

Providing a lower impedance thermal path due to more surface while not blocking the heatflow. (To much small vias may form a "nice" heattrap.)

You fixed the noise issue your setup had ?
Shorting the + input only shows what is ampboards own noise contribution with both +/- inputs grounded. It may help eliminating potential causes for the noise, but fixes nothing.

Install a switch on the mute pins and use that to switch your amp on

Yes shorting out input was an indication that the way i connected input first time was kind of yunky ,after soldering inputs from bt modul, noise is low enough .

Voltwide managed to bring down the THD of a TPA3118 implementation down to 0.002% at 24V/1kHz into 10R. No output snubbers or bootstrap-snubbers involved. k1 to k2 is at 101dB. Pretty impressive.
