Hi Wim,

I am looking forward to read your article in AudioXpress. I also read your article regarding the Pragmatic amp. Very entertaining and interesting.
Keep up the good work!

Pictures of the Abletec amp look great. Did the connectors come with the module?

Regarding Anaview: didn't they collaborate with Hypex a while ago?

Hi Svein,

the connectors shown on my pictures have to be ordered additionally.
You find them at the bottom of the ALC0180 product detail page under "Related parts and parts bought in addition to this item":

ALC-MP133-1.
1.79 EUR per piece

Hi Matthias,

I have an idea how, but just to make things sure I did email the Abletec/Anaview company and they wrote that they will take care to upload a connection diagram in this thread.

Do notice: the bridge configuration is only to be used with 8 ohm load. Accordng to the Abletec infosheet the output power will be 180W into 8 ohm.

Just post a message regarding the bridge mode config and just a few minutes later I received a mail from Abletec/Anaview with the connection diagram.

Enclosed you can find the connection diagram they send, this to connect the ALC0180 in the correct way for bridge mode use.

The bass drivers I want to use with them are 13 ohm. So should be no problem.

I think it is a general problem with lots of companies, they offer the email option for inquiries, but simply they don't reply. I think we can not do anything about this.

AFAIK, the Abletec amp was designed by the same guy who did the ICEpower ASX2 series, and they are close in both design and performance.

I regard the ICE ASX2 as very good amps, although not quite as good as Hypex.

Wimdehaan,

It seems that the Abletec modules do not have DC protection. Do you think that is a problem?

Do they mute at switch on/off? (Both for own pop noise and noise from connected DSP etc)

Thanks
