I have my student hat on and have a question. What makes one version folded, and the other not.

The cascode transistor folding to a ground referenced load.

The folded cascode provides higher output swing tan the telescopic at the expense of power dissipation.

They give advantage in opamps towards applications where the Vs can be limited in the system rail. Low dissipation and consumption goals in high density designs.

Here is the quick and dirty, with both SSLV's up and running.

They are the same machine. 50MHZ is plenty for audio projects. They just bias a varicap in the analogue front end differently via firmware and slap a different model label. Their fan can be a nuisance. That is if you breadboard or repair for long and you need concentration. Changing it voids the warranty.

Here is the quick and dirty, with both SSLV's up and running.

Try it then to see about hum and get a taste.

Both second stages are at 10V+ with 50r degeneration. Allowed me to drop B+ down, unless you think I need more headroom on second stage.

Junky Sansui. I know. It's on the list
Brother has Sota with Ortifon bronze. Much more appropriate.

Conrad Johnson tube. Its driving MingDa integrated with upgraded tubes, caps throughout. Sounds wonderful to my ears.
