Tubelab SPP first timer build

From recommendations from several people i've now moved onto serious thoughts to build the Tubelab SPP amplifier.
http://tubelab.com/designs/tubelab-spp/

Please keep posts only about the Tubelab SPP amplifier, the recommended components, as the design gives in the parts list.

Your thoughts, suggestions, experiences and cases to use, are welcome but based only on the original design http://tubelab.com/designs/tubelab-spp/parts-list/

I'm based in southern europe, so i would like to try and source components etc from the least amount of sources, to avoid courier costs and import duty.

I'm aware of these sources: -

The first step is to decide what you final goal is for presentation. Will the tubes be on top of a plate, and transformers on top, like the classic amps?
The quality you are aiming for will influence transformer choices. To make something that is presentable, and safe, is the main part of the effort in the build.
Many have used Toroidy transformers, which are a great price for the quality, but to make them presentable they really need to be the potted versions, which add a big chunk to the price.

OldHector, yes i'll try for the classic amp look with them on top. Safety will be a priority.
Some nice looking transformers here: -

Will check out Digikey UK and Mouser EU.
Lots of things to check and double-check

There is a long running thread on the SPP here:

https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/tubelab-simple-p-p.148694/

The schematic in post #9 is correct. The original was lost back in 2009 when my computer crashed, and the web site was hacked within a few weeks of moving it to a new hosting company. The web site was restored from a backup that was made before the SPP was launched.

PCB's ordered. Many thanks for the SPP link, i'll be seeing that a.s.a.p. I'll download the Cct in post #9, it's always nice to have a circuit diagram to see what's what.

Stephe over at skunkie designs is in the process of documenting a mono bloc SPP build. Schematic and probably somewhat different parts list available there too.
https://www.skunkiedesigns.com/tubelab-spp-clone
Very useful videos from Skunkie Designs on her build of the Tubelab SPP
Tubelab Monoblock: Power Supply and Voltage Test.
Tubelab Monoblock: Basic Layout and Parts.
Tubelab Monoblock: Initial Fab and Final Layout.

But i must admit the work that George (Tubelabs) has done with his design, parts list, images etc etc are top notch!

have been waiting on some parts :)

I know that feeling.. mouser transformer backordered since 20th.. so much for quoted 10 days backorder time. Even the 3 weeks backorder time now showing has expired.

@calpe when you order check the the stock isn't in single digits and it pays to order one or two more in case you pop/burn any (less likely if it's a known design with known components). Don't forget the load resistors to load up the output transformers without speakers :)

I always order extra resistors and other small/cheap passives in case I screw up while building :)
