The Weather

Yeah, it's been unseasonably cold here in the PNY. What happened to this month - supposed to be May! Just waiting for the big red switch to get flipped to its other position; "so hot you cant stand it". I'll know when I take off the long underwear bottoms, so far it's been every day since January 1st...including today.

We had thunder storms roll though last night - and it looked like a lot of large hail coming through. I just had pea size at my place. But check out all the banner ads that popped up this morning. Somebody got hammered with the big stuff.

As a sidemark, I found a nice osprey nestcam from Scotland. An interesting summer coming to me, comparing it to the Finnish cam!

Now that i've been following these lovebirds' family life for a month, I must say that the weather in central Finland looks much nicer than in western Scotland!

The greenlife here will now get some water as well! And temps are like they should this time, just like in the good ol' times.

In fact the only damage was to the cosmetic edging,
From someone who has installed a lot of windows in his life, I suggest someone took a coffee break during the installation of that unit and forgot to go back after.
Hurricane proof glass.
I suspect otherwise. Hurricane glass will still break easily but it's laminated like your car windshield so it holds together. This has acted like tempered glass but that's unusual for residential windows. The other unusual thing is that it blew inward. Almost impossible for a nail on flanged window unless it was installed backward. If is a punched frame or retrofit, that might also explain it, but we're back to the installer again. Looking at the framing it's hard to see what went wrong.

A situation that might have caused me Alarm and Distress:

Happily I live in the UK. Hampshire to be exact where Hurricanes Hardly Ever Happen, as me and Julie Andrews often Joke.

Could have been nasty if your worktable faced the window, eh? As mine does.

But was it a wise decision to live on "Thunderbolts Way"?

Evidently a place full of surprises. :)

:sarcasm. Nails and screws cost too much money - let’s not use any. Trim and painters caulk will hold it, right?

Looks like things could get interesting on the west coast?
West coast resident here. Went for a 1 mi run later this afternoon. Beautiful afternoon; finally, perfect for running. Weather has been off-putting this whole year; cold/rain, then cold/rain, then cold/rain some more. Now my biggest fear <SNAP!> in 3 days it's 80/sunny/dry, then in a week 90, then it's too hot to even be outside.

The atmosphere is oscillating out of control.
