I agree with you and beautiful music compositions ahead of his time in 1971.

In the past, I was not fan of the band Yes,
just discovered album "Tales from topographic oceans " yesterday.

For me it's The Yes Album with Fragile a close second. The originality and complexity of the compositions, the ability of the musicians and the quality of engineering does it for me!

In 1972 I sneaked backstage to a concert by arriving super early and pretending I was waiting to meet Edgar Winter's band. "No they're stuck at the airport and won't be here for a while." the guard said as I walked past. I was up onstage during set-up when Rick Wakeman asked me for my help miking his grand piano! After moving the placement of one of the mikes to the lower registers in the piano he winked and said, "Trick of the trade." Then, as he sat down on the piano bench he asked, "Would you hold this for me?" as he handed me his Rolex and proceeded to shred the keyboard. Following the sound check he thanked me and headed backstage. I have to admit, the sound from that vantage point was pretty amazing!

The Eagles opened and were pretty tame. Edgar Winter followed and got things going. After his set, when Yes started playing, security escorted Edgar off the edge and led him to where I was standing. Security then asked me for my backstage pass. I looked down at my shirt and, trying to act surprised, I claimed that it must have fallen off. Grabbing my arm he said, "Let's go."

I yelled, "Wait!" and pointed to Rick, telling security, "Ask him!" The security guy looked up and yelled to Rick asking, "What about him?" Rick nodded affirmatively an mouthed, "He's okay." The guy then released my arm and continued checking other people's passes.

It ended up being one of my top five favorite concerts. Yours is No Disgrace, I've Seen All Good People, Roundabout, Heart of the Sunrise and Starship Trooper all were incredible!
