This is how it looks like. I gently flipped the lid up to try to see inside and then it was a little click and the buttons started to work again, mening pushing one released the other. But something seems to be wrong inside cause I only get a little dot in the corner of the CRT screen.

It doesn't look like what can be repaired.
My 7104 has another type of horizontal switches:

Caesar will be 9 weeks old tomorrow, we picked him up two days ago.
He has to be 14 weeks minimum to be flown to Curaçao (vaccination shots at 12 weeks, 2 weeks wait before the all-clear).

Not sure yet when C von Salad will be tossed, and who'll do the dropping.
Could be end of August, Curaçao NSJ festival on 1-3 september (Tom Jones, Branford Marsalis, Los Van Van, Kassav)

Hey, whataya expect from folks living in the Low

Ok thanks. Well just one way to know then, use some violence and breake it open, look at the mess.

Probably I would do so.
But, you have said, switches are working now.
Can you measure it at the pins?
There could be zillion another thing what causes problem.
For example:
Are you sure, that your plugins works?
Are you checked all of the PS voltages?
