Got it... Yesss!!!

Hi Roberto,

I just received a nice package today. After inspecting all the parts I can honestly say that I'm impressed by the quality of the build. Unlike other company that we know very well that make SMPS and Class D amps, you only use high quality components throughout the build, Elna, Rubycon, etc... And no cheap Samwha caps like some others. Even underneath the transfo you can see the shielding between the board vents. Very nice!!!

Here's some pics for everyone to see

Now I will be buying some more stuff! :D

Ciao!

Hi, can the DPS-400+PBTU-3 be modified to give even lower output voltage? Since you already have it in two versions... I`m more looking towards +/-25 to +/- 35V
Hi, it is certainly possible, but without the amount, I can not ask produce the transformer. I have the model ready with + /-36V 12Amp (230Vac) and aux + /-20V 2x250mA LC-filtered, unreg. blue version for AB amp.

@Pinnocchio:

Hello Dominic, well ... all components of the same parts number, critically selected, it is one of my faults :D
For the mechanical arrangement, you can see a picture as "MDA-400" dual mono.
Unfortunately, the flash alters the colors.

In life it is always the same, when some will understand this my offer, the kits will be finished Hahaha!

Hi,
Today I got the aluminum parts that I designed for the 4 ch (KIT-3).
Except the transformer at 120Vac (I wanted to fix something, it is now more powerful, as the last measure shows). Should arrive by the weekend.
All kit are ready on the shelf, so no delay :)
-----------------------
The amplifiers have been well tested with this AL-frame, (@ 300w/CH). you can remove the heatsink (not absolutely necessary) and maybe you can use for other projects.

Regards

Hi, Single SDA-400 (KIT-9) , exactly as copy & paste layers of Amp MDA-400.

For me it is a great amp, robust, well protected with very low output impedance.
Hardly recognized as Class D, while listening at high power.
Price € 60+22 € spedition (Canada 30 €) 20 Kit availlable.

Hi Roberto,
This looks very interesting, but not easy to keep track!

Count me in for one KIT-8.
Is it possible to order more than one kit?

cheers
Why not, in this case the Kit-8 weighs 1.1 Kg, so two exceed the weight, I think there is a difference in the price of the shipment. I check it later.

The DPS-400, is available at 36V, 42V, 52V. (230V)
The DPS-500/DA at 39 - 42V,ADJ on board. (110/230Vac)
I put the list then.

Pinnocchio 1xKIT-3
CafèNoir 1xKIT-8
Mr.X 1xKIT-1
Giannettino 1xKIT-1

DPS-400/120Vac Ready

Hi,
The transformers (50pcs) for dps-400/120Vac, arrived.
Since this smps, works in direct conversion (no voltage doubler as others), the transformer has been completely redesigned, to solve two new problems, given that the voltage on the filter is about 168V and thus the ratio of the transformer drops close to 1: 1. we need to transfer to the secondary, with double current. the solution is not as simple as it may seem. double current in the magnetic flux, it means double "dispersed", therefore, I can not change only the turns of the primary.
--------------------------------
...After 10 hours of intensive measures and re-tuned some components, we now have a great ultra compact dps-400/120Vac. and also is very generous in the current, I set to 8Amp at 52V., 10 Amp at 42-46V.
also, since I want to provide the best performance, 120Vac version, I assembled a version of PBTU-3 with same diameter caps, but 2x10000uF/50V low ESR. measured and listened to my mosfet amp, performance is excellent, perfect clean, very nice audio transient response. much higher than a 400VA transformer with 2x47000uF, perhaps I should say, not fully comparable.
Weight=400g.
--------------------------------

The values of the components around the filter ripple, have been completely changed (high voltage section),includes caps.
Tomorrow I'll put the photos.

DPS-400-120Vac

Hi,
Burst test at 6R (+/-46Vout)
33mS duration at 1Khz,66mS pause,repeated continuos.
Later I show at 4R and 2mS duration,2mS pause.
I tested this smps in all direction, incluse current flow from AC-Line (very important).
Even this version 120Vac, support well up to 400mA of bias in amplifier.
I believe that solve perfectly (one for amps), the condition 120Vac, providing a very clean behavior without developing excessive heat (at full power as disco pub, not need cooling or heat sink).
So we, 120Vac, the DPS-400 at + / -39 and 48V for now. (52V only for SDA)
I do a new kit, because this version costs 16 € more (including pbtu-3S (2x10.000uF50V).
I'm doing miracles to let you know about these products. :)
All kit is real discounted 50%.

Regards

Guys... these smps are excellent!, well-tuned for audio amps, with advanced tools for measurements,as it is right to do, not only vout and load test, this is a big difference.
