Personally, I don't like to use any additional bypasses: a single quality cap is fine by itself. If you wish to try other bypass values, there is no problem and it will work fine too. However, size restriction may be a problem. You may find it easier to install larger bypass caps underneath, soldered directly to main electrolytic pins.
