PA03 Inductor help

I used the inductor that I bought in previous group buy to copy.

The BOM states "15 turns Ø1.3-1.4 on dia Ø8 Inductor, 0.7-1.5 uH"

I took an inductor to a Hardware store and found that a 1/4" hardwood dowel fit

perfectly inside the coil. I counted the turns 14 not 15.

I used 16 ga magnet wire 1.291 mm.

I sprayed insulating varnish to cover any dings in the insulation.

My questions are, will these work.

Does it matter that I wound them in the opposite direction of the supplied coil?

Thank you
