Simon Shaheen "The Music of Mohamed Abdel Wahab" (Axiom)

Simon Shaheen/ Ali Jihad Racy "Taqasim - The Art of Improvisation in Arabic Music" (Lyrichord)

Been on a bit of a middle eastern kick since seeing Kudsi Erguner performing a concert of "Sufi Invocations" a couple of weeks back.

Now in heavy play:
Sonny Landreth - Another great cd from an incredible slide guitar player featuring tunes written for the various guest players.
Buddy Guy - Skin Deep
I've been fortunate enough to see both these artists in small theaters and recordings don't do them justice.

Old Genesis fan side-note:
I 1st saw them do "Supper's Ready" at my Student Union, I was close enough to see Gabriel's unique hair, and feel the flash pot at the finale.
I saw "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway Tour" in 74(?).
Again better live than recorded. :)

Clash - Rat Patrol from Fort Bragg (bootleg double album)

Combat Rock was originally planned as a double album with the working title Rat Patrol from Fort Bragg, but the idea was scrapped after internal wrangling within the group. Mick Jones had mixed the first version, but the other members were dissatisfied and mixing/producing duties were handed to Glyn Johns, at which point the album became a single LP. The original mixes have since been obtained and subsequently bootlegged.
