i was spinning them with him on his last visit.
he left for home (kansas city) and i got a call from him (my dad) letting me know he had "barrowed" some albums. my bread, heart, fleetwood mac, nat king cole etc....
im not even upset. if not for him i would be stuck with only the knowlage of Hair bands of my generation..... besides i "barrowed" his zeplin and jim croche, haha!

Orbital - Satan..... old skool
Wouldn't old skool be Halcyon or Diversions by Orbital?

Yes, just about.
Is 1991 not old skool enough? There was a remix later though.
I treat anything up to 1994 as old skool. Then trance as we know it started to properly emerge around 1994/95.
In 1974 I saw Kraftwerk perform live in Germany...right before Autobahn came out...Then I saw them again in 1998 in Chicago. I had the original album on LP. And I have a few CD's by Kraftwerk now. I think they finally disbanded not long ago.
I think Satan is on one of those two CD's...but it's also on the In Sides CD.

1974 that's proper old skool. Glad you reminded me of them. Bit before my time. Didn't realise it was them that did the original Trans Europa Express.
My first real dance track I loved was New Order - Blue Monday.
Currently having a listen to KLF - Last Train To Trancentral

Tchaikovsky - Violin concerto - Oistrakh / Philadelphia / Ormandy - YouTube
This is the best performance ever recorded of one of the four best violin concertos ever written.
At least listen to the entire 1st movement (about 18 minutes).
Turn it up. There are some stunningly-great moments.
