Yes to that as long as the cone deflection does not exceed Xmech at normal listening levels.

Xmech is the mechanical limit of travel, either by limitation of suspension, or when the VC belts into the back plate. If you exceed it, you've broken the driver.

I agree Scott, I mentioned Xmech because you said that below Fb, cone deflection will be more; so I assumed that the 1.6mm Xmax rating of the 168Sigmas will anyway be exceeded.
