That's generally not where this issues lie with MA drivers. Do you have an example of a driver that is harsh on the vocal region?I'm interested in building one but I am worried about the harshness in the vocal region of many full range speakers.

No. The whizzer isn't for the vocal region, it's for extending the treble region.Do MA driver's not suffer due to the lack of whizzer?
The 8" drivers you mentioned probably have a typical rising response, starting at 1-2 kHz, and peaking around 10k.

Should I be worried about beaming? Looks to me like a tweeter is going to be necessary to tame the top end. The woden design silbury looks cool, but a lot of work with little guarantee that it will sound better than a multi-way design.
