Seb, I suppose you use a 15VAC 50VA transformer to get the 20VDC for the 5 Zappulse's gatedriver ...
Why don't you hook up this transformer to softstart too?

Currently I'm building a 6 channel main amp using Zappulse 2.3 modules. I use the LC Audio DC blocker and softstart to feed two 50VAC 500VA and one 15VAC 50VA transformers. Behind these transformers are 3 Predator power supplies.

I use two van Medevoort (http://www.audioart.nl) cabinets. One for the transformers etc. and one for the three Predator PS and the three Zappulses.

Today I use a 2-channel prototype to get familiar with these modules. I'm transforming my complete audioset from 2-channel to 6-channel using Jordan JX92S units.

Front speakers are based on the MLTL (Mass Loaded Transmission Line) concept. But I use them in dipole mode (one unit in front and the other in back direction). I'm just in the development stadium, but it looks promising. The cabinets are adjusted to 38Hz. I'm experimenting with in fase and out of fase connection.

Fot the rear speakers I will use a single Jordan, also in MLTL setup. The center will be equipped with 2 Jordan's (bass-reflex I think).

The pre-amp is a 6-channel van Medevoort CA-640 (http://www.audioart.nl/nl/products/ca640.html). The multi-format front-end will be the Marantz DV-7600, but this unit is not released yet if I'm right.

In the future I will put a complete history, building instruction and photo gallery on my site (http://www.hetkraaienest.nl). Don't look at it now, it's still empty ...

To get back a little action in this topic, my Zap case in progress:

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

The Zappulse modules will be on top the 2 mm thick alu plates above the Velleman 1000VA/45VAC toroids (on both sides of the caps). Distance between top of toroid and Zappulse wil be about 5 cm (2 "). Do I need to worry about that? I could add more metal in between.

Another issue, is there a sound difference between balanced of single ended input (I would prefer the first)?

Seeing the specs of the cute Zap V300 amp ( http://www.lcaudio.com/index.php?page=1 ). Damping factor 300@8 ohm. Is that what I can expect? How can I maximise this (it is supposed to be a bass amp for a pair of Lambda's)??
