Hi cosmin_nfmdeva,
From what you have told us, a specialist might be a good idea. This amplifier has been modified in a way that makes it tougher to troubleshoot. It looks like you have an original problem, circuit changes and a new problem due to the previous ones.
This all makes it hard to figure out if you are not used to these things.

Hi Mark,
That's a speaker protector chip. It handles the turn on delay, AC power detection (in some circuits) and DC offset detection. A handy chip that makes building a speaker protection circuit very easy.
In case this would help someone, I looked up the datasheet. Here is one PDF on the HA12002. It is very easy to use.
They don't often fail, so go ahead and build a protector for your DIY amp - someone!

Hi fcasop55,
Try 2SC2580 or 81 and 2SA1105 or 06. The ratings are higher, but they are the same transistor other than that.

You will need more part than that.and the transistor c2578 and A1103 are borned.

My AV centerpiece for years, a Kenwood KA-V7700, silently went to "sleep" a month or so back. No drama, no nothing, wont even power up!. Any hope of reviving this beast myself or should I just toss it?.
Being in Nairobi, Kenya, I am fighting the crazy temptation to send the whole 30 kg (mebbe less) of it over to any repair shop that can repair the unit (Frightful of freight $$$!). Is this vintage amp still supported? Anyone has a service manual for it?
The foregoing thread (which I have no intention whatsoever of hijacking...) is driving me to seek help in terms of schematics etc, to try and revive the amp by meself, and I am desperately looking for leads.... Could someone point me in the right direction?
PS:I also have a TEAC AG-10 (?) that refuses to come out of standby mode....
Clearly, serious HELP is required in Nairobi...
