JL AMp E1400d Repair Help Please

k perry it plays but it go into protect mode like 1/4 of the way. is it b/c i'm running only a tiny power wire on them. or is there something else wrong with the amp should i try hooking up to a in side the car

let me rewrite that it plays and power on when i turn the gain like 1/4 the way, it goes into protect mode really quick and turn's green. i back it down and it stays on. but the sound and bass sound strong and i have the bass boost off and the lp crossover off too should i try to switch them on to see if it cuts out to protect mode or not?

perry it plays at almost 3/4 gain it very powerfull and doesn't destorted does that seem ok or no?

What power supply are you using? If it can't supply the power the amp will shut down.

JL amps are VERY sensitive to dips in voltage. They're so bad that I had to buy a car battery to parallel with my supplies when testing at high power. I'd suggest reinstalling it in the car to see if it works properly.

k thanks man the amp so powerful it sounds pretty good i bought a power converter but i thank it's can only handle so much u know?

k hi again i have another ? when i put power to the amp it goes green power on to red protect switching back and forth about 30 sec and then stays solid green power and it plays sound up till 3/4 gain on the amp and goes into that green power and protect again and then if i back off the gain it stays solid green. any ideas i was thinking maybe that D18 is messed up

Is the DC voltage measured directly across the B+ and ground terminals staying well above 12v when it shuts down?

k i power the amp up in a car and it didn't shut down plays nice and loud thank you guys for helping me out i have two more amps that i got one is a Jensen 4 ch amp and the other one is a coustic 700 2 ch amp
