I find it a bit strange, reflections from behind adds airyness and spaciousness i think, not at all confusion. With an acoustic dead rear wall the sound is too much locked to the speakers, the same is true if the front wall, the wall behind the speakers, also are too dead. I need a good mix of reflections and damping, it might be so that my spaces often are a bit too damped, i have not yet done any rt60 measurements
