No you need to solder on a S08 to dip 8 adapter, then plug it into the adapter.
You can use any one you want. As long as it's a dual.

Interesting you say that because I did investigate DIP-8 Adapters and avoided the tin versions, went for copper-Berylium versions

Have you analyzed the circuit (or seen the circuit diagram)? What is the reason for using a dual amp?
