The NC400's have no sound signature of their own. They sound exactly like the source, only amplified. The LM4562's maybe slightly warmer. But definitely some coloration. It's been a while now since I've heard the stock buffer stage.

With the input buffer modded with the Burson discrete opamp, sound was definitely warmer and nicer. Much better than the LM4562 IMO.

Whats actually involved in modding the input buffer and which Burson should be used

I am getting confused, what do you fit instead of the removed LM4562 .

I assume the LM4562 is the buffer used by Boggit and AI

The Burson discrete opamp. I thought that's what this conversation was about.

Ok so you remove the LM4562, solder fit the DIP8 and then fit the Burson to the DIP8. Is that soldered in or a push fit.
Is that it, nothing else to do.
Which model Burson should be fitted I looked at their site and they had several models.

No you need to solder on a S08 to dip 8 adapter, then plug it into the adapter.

You can use any one you want. As long as it's a dual.
