The dynaudio domes are not as delicate as many other (advent or CTS or anything else vintage). I know for a fact that atleast 2 of the domes got wet, I mean very wet. They survived well enough and I have the water marks as proof. I cut open one of these - removed the dome from the frame cos it was grinding. The dome has a water stain but is remarkably still coated and still functional (except for the fact now it needs to be re centered, re oiled and re glued). These are pretty robust, and I dont believe they havhe a water based coating or even a very delicate coating for that matter. That dome I have tried to clean it with alcohol swab off that water mark. Nothing came off in the swab. I will put pics up.
Cool.

masking tape gently applied may pull off the dust...
Tape's not a bad idea....one trick we use in automotive paint masking, when we don't want the adhesive to be as "sticky" is run the adhesive side across your clothing first, before applying the tape.
This is not a good idea, since it is used for coating.
