Tubes also wear out, in addition to being expensive for the single ended triodes. And tubes don't do bass as well as solid state. But they definitely have their place in Audiophoolery. I may have to rebuild an amp or two with parts that I have.

I have built and listened to push-pull and single ended (common source and common drain) VFET/SIT amplifiers, and my preference is for single ended common drain. They have a clarity that I did not hear in my common source VFET/SIT amplifiers.

I’m currently listening to my P-channel VFET amp with a tweaked Marauder front end. Simply Devine.
Still, would love to hear a version with one of the big SITs as single ended common drain.

SITs do offer a nice compromise between Triodes and regular Fets.

One of the best parts is that you can tune them for different sonic character
by adjusting their position on the load lines.

Was thinking it'd be fun to add some LEDs and a plexiglass lid in my future Sissy build for some "ambient lighting" to make up for that lack of glow.
