i am new to hi eff speaker and would like to build one.

My preferences and goals:
- musicality and naturalness
- base is not the most important but added value
- clear Warm sound
- Clear bass rather than lowest notes
- smooth treble
- small room size
- range of music mainly jazz, vocal
- would love to pair them with SE amp or low watt T amp

... and in this context I'd like to underline my thoughts on power, impedance and efficiency using a Tripath amp as my personal baseline that I am very happy with: With a 12V Tripath. you'll want to be driving 4 Ohm speakers with 87dB efficiency. That's my equation. Then tune the parameters. More voltage, and you can drop efficiency, or higher impedance and you'll want higher efficiency.

Ah, the Jantzen kit then? I was also looking into this as well - the designer is well-regards and it seems like it could be very nice. It is a 2-way with x-over in the presence region, therefore not a fullrange driver May need to disucuss this on a different forum.
