I was referring to the circuit in the first post, with autobias. If you use a jfet with a high Vpo of say 5 volts, you will get a source voltage a bit over half supply with a 9 volt power supply. Like this circuit with j108:
Vsource is 5.4 volt, no clipping and very low distortion, even lower than your example with lsk389 (if i did my simulation correctly...)
