Those of you who have read my posts in the last month or so, may have noticed some funny remarks, following my name at the end of each post.
This is a small tribute to Halo, or Halojoy ( of Sweden), for all his effort to refresh some boring discussions, to encourage or discourage someone when needed, to give some colour and vigour to the whole forum.
I personally miss his humane and humorous approach.
I personally think that the moderators have done a great dis-service to the entire DIY community by letting Halo go.

Tell me what you think, and no offence to anyone, just be yourself and smile.

Halo is just in the sinbin for a few days, was it 2? He will be back, I'll garantee that. He has been online all the time.

Halo, your 20 kW schematics you have got (at your ftp site) from Glen, this is a "vapor amp", never left the computer and never will. I hope I'm wrong here

Halo was just sin binned for a couple of days because he was serving copyright material from his FTP site that was advertised on DIYAudio. For legal reasons we had to insist he removed the link from this website.

Us mods enjoyed his posts as much as the rest of you, and we want him back too- hopefully he is just in a brief sulk and will come back soon, once he realises it wasn't personal, just legal stuff we had to enforce;)

Just take note of the number of people including a /comment at the end of the post, Halo-style. It's like a third person commenting on what you have just said, or blabbing your *real* motives to all and sundry.

/Circlotron - thinks Halo has almost everyone hypnotized. ;)

Hopefully Halo removes the questionnable ( ?,never seen it ) content of his website.

What would this forum be without him ? :bawling:

I don't agree always with Halo on technical matters but his wit and respect for other's opinions can give new insight in matters. Never a dull discussion when Halo is around !

/Jean-Paul - wishes Halo comes back to remind us we're only human

Ode to halojoy

in the beginning
there was gromanswe
kicked from AA
he landed here

strange it seemed were his posts
some gave him a a hard time
some few saw the beaty in his posts
(a mod still has a gromanswe quote
as a signature on every post --
and they are many)
but groman dissappeared
why i know not

but then resurrected as halojoy
a new member from Sweden appeared
and slowly, but surely
wormed his way into many a heart
with posts of joy
posts of enlightment
posts questioning the rote

at 1st no-one knew
that halojoy was the 2nd coming
so clever was he
but learned he had
from his 1st coming

he shrugged off many a barb
nothing seemed to make him mad
shining thru the clouds
a style & place he made for himself
and thereby special made the place
in which he had found a place
even a place special for him was made

enlightened he became
and so seemed to redouble his efforts
to be a helping hand
a friendly counterpoint
a smiling post

in his generosity
he made a mis-step
and SAD he was
and just like that
with a huff & a puff
he was gone

but not forgotten
or without leaving a mark
a legacy
a hole, a loss

today without halojoy
the place is a sadder place
a day without halojoy
like a day without sunshine

so now in the dark we sit
SAD
waiting for the son to come back .... :(

dave
planet10/ will never be able to gromanswe anywhere near as good as halojoy

Maybe he will return with a new name again? Keep an eye on the new members.

/Circlotron - knows that companies change their name when they have a bad reputation, but this is not the way with Halojoy / gromanswe.

What about Hewlett-Packard and Agilent

When your brand = high quality, then change the name to something noone has heard of! Very smart

e.g the "arr-arr" of amplifiers.

Can you imagine Rolls Royce ever changing their name? I _don't_ think so. In reality they are now part of BMW I think, but notice the *name* is still the same? So BMW pays a squillion jillion pounds for some dusty old factories, some clanked-out machinery, and the most swish name in the business. HP spends their own money to throw decades of reputation and association with quality down the toilet.

Thanks Stanislav!

but this forum
is not a happy place

it is more a contest about
who knows best

here
hardly anyone shows any appreciation for anybody else
still they expect other's to give them credit

...........................

I build my gear quietly now
without any heartbreaking dicussions
with people
that does not know much more than me
although the noise they make
try to convince us they know it all

My Diy Projects
does not suffer one bit from this
and
I stay out of mind confusion
caused by low quality posts
at this place

truthfully
I do not miss you, diyaudio members, much

with the exception
of
less than a handfull:

1) Nelson - not for his knowledge,
but for keeping his mind is on a higher level,
than some :bawling: creeps :bawling: around here
and for having at least some distance to the subject of audio
- There is more to life than MOSFETS, isn't it?

2) ?????? - I know there is someone more.
Maybe I recall it next time I post here.
(might take a very long time until I do - sorry)

;) halojoy ;) happily divorsed from Jason's Place

........................

Anybody is welcome to my webstuff
I am now starting up a collection
of Tube Goodies:

Halojoy Tube Amplifier Project

halo - tube amp new bie

Thanks Stanislav!

Well, on second thought, I regret putting so many members down.
Sorry!
A few bad samples of humans
should not destroy the fun for :) normal nice-guys :).

So I moderate my statement:
"There are more than 'a handfull',
that I could have some little joy
to interact with at this site."
(not to tell a lie, it might even be more than 10)

halojoy - :goodbad: acting moderator for first time :goodbad:
