It's the noise floor, common cath amp pentode used as a CCS with heavily slugged grids to shut it up,. My guess it's a TV line class with straight linearity curves, EF184 family or sim. There's loads about and cheap. On the otherhand, another arguement to use a pentode where the B+ is too high for silicon.

Not exactly, but it is a flower of moss. About 3 millimeters in diameter. Similarly, like some big flower of say cactus may be looking alike no less beautiful, another tube on higher current may show very similar results.
