With reference to this post, where to measure if JFETs are running hot/or not? The ones that I plan to use have IDSS of 10.7 mA.

I am not the best in calculations and assumptions, but if Ohms law is fully in play.

11ma @ 24v without Source resistor is .264ma so a bit more than half of 400ma max. probably want to be more around half max, so 200 ma, so I think a 10-20R resistor is would cut this back.

In my experience high idss JFETs are fine if source resistor is tuned good. Otherwise when they run too much juice through them they run more unstable, making sometimes the other end of the circuit a bit more wild to stabilize.
Salas and I ran into that with prototypes of the Folded RIAA, until we ironed out a few elements.

BTW, I have run 10.5ma ones for probably two years in mine without any issues. I listen to it alot, as it's in my work office.
