Salut Guy, d'un autre montréalais en Asie!

I think you should post your hello in the Introductions area of the forum though.

:)

Introductions - diyAudio

Bonjour perceval.
J'ai déjà corrigé mon erreur.
May I ask where in Montréal are you or were you living.
I was on the corner or l'Assomption and Beaubien
(Rosemont La petite patrie)
Now, for the same price, may I ask where in Asia are you ?

A la prochaine.

It's been a while since I had my speakers out.
Seems that I have to go through a Separation from the wife to get back to enjoy my sounds. Fe126"s, DIY RIAA pre-amp to a standard KFC amp (slightly harsh), but still sweet sounds, chilling in the new apartment.

Gotto build my fe206's in a big box now. Thinking of some karlsons.

Looks like you were able to retain all your toys! Cool!

New beginnings! Enjoy!

Philips 9710 in bass reflex cabinet.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

Hi Curlycat,
that's what I acll a really nice speaker an speaker cabinet.
Today, they might do something similar,
but to me, not nice like this one.
I love vintage stuff, when the audio manufacturers
knew how to make nice ans sturdy stuff.

Looks good, are those grill attachments I see around the driver?

Zebra Sub-Sats

This is my third speaker build. It is a 2.1 sub-sat configuration that I'm using in my bedroom, with the sats mounted on the walls.

The sub has a Tymphany 5 1/4" subwoofer driver, with two matching passive radiators in a sealed enclosure. It has a 5 liter volume.

The sats use a 4" 'point source' Dayton Audio full-range driver with additional 3/4" Dayton tweeters.

I taught myself how to veneer specifically for speaker building and these enclosures use 3/4" MDF for the sub and 1/2" MDF for the sats with African Zebrawood veneer.

The sound is really good for classical music and vocal oriented music (like folk music), but they aren't the best for rock as things get a little muddy and strained. Overall though, I'm pleased how they turned out.

Dayton PS95 speaker bar

My first speaker bar build, using Dayton PS95 fullrange drivers, ported to around 72hz on the left and right channel and 85hz on the center - which has dual ports for cosmetic purposes.
