Working on a psu for the amp, where do you think is petter to put more capacitance before or after resistance: 1. CCCRC, 2. CRCCC or 3. CCRCC?
I asked the same question in this post
and used both Duncan and LTSpice for simulation.
In my case I found that a symmetrical arrangement looks good. Not sure that this is a rule.
Nelson didn't post the F7 on firstwatt.com. Maybe he is too busy building the F8.![]()
The F7-turbo is coming soon!

NP calls this the "even-steven" rule.

The Turbo version is one one I mentioned that I abandoned.

I am not so sure that Nelson will continue in all eternity to serve us with lovely amps.......
maybe he will enjoy a sudden change of subject......

Did you abandon the Turbo version because you couldn't achieve the desired performance, or other reasons?
Not with Lynn, he will of course use both kinds of feedback!

Yes of course.
I say, go for it.
Maybe 30V supply.

Simulations give:
30V rails => 40W at below 1% THD
35V rails => 60W at below 1% THD

What does 1W HD look like under both conditions.

I liked the much simpler amplifier.

Just add 2 transistors and 5 resistors and stir. Oh, BTW, use bigger lateral fets too. I believe that it will closely duplicate the F7, but at higher output power. I am still acquiring the parts to build it.
