Ok my first hints were not fitting.....

Before omitting the 10R pots you could adjust the 1.5A?

And now without no more?

You drive Semisouth or IRF?

Why not adding one LED more in the problemati channel? You get more voltage for biasing and you can possibly adjust your 1A5

Or what about measuring the voltage over both LED strings if they are equal?

When you add another LED turn first down the current in the actual arrangement otherwise.....Ploppp!

I have a run of F6's with the Mosfets (believe it or not, most of my
listeners prefer them over the JFETs in this application) and I use
6.25V references for the biasing, formed by TL431's.

What are the differences between Mosfets and Jfets as far as sound quality in the F6 application?
And in what application does the Jfet win?

Rush

PS, thank you for all that you do for this community. Very greatful.

Do you think this has to do with increased gain and DF? I think the IRF best the SS in this regard, correct? I am assembling a mosfet version of the balanced F6 and will compare.

My setup with F6 and IRF's was a much more golden relaxed sound.
The SemiSouths had less distortion, more sparkle and a devine top end. But not a lush mids like the IRFs. When trying to add more K2 with pots and source resistors to R100's, it lost the top end magic for me.

But that's only me.
