Two principal variables are at play in Pass designs. The nature of the power output devices used, and secondly the circuit topologies utilizing them. Four combination have appeared todate:
- New power device and novel circuit [SIT]
- New linear device [R100A] and modified old circuit; e.g. F6
- Old devices [MOSFETs] and innovative circuits [the rest]
- Old devices and old circuits [not applicable]
most important thing , resulted from Papa's playin' (spanned over several years) with SJEP, SJDP and his own PASS SIT-1 (all of these unobtanium for us , mere mortals ) is - that he's able to achieve desired THD spectra using whatever parts he throw on the bench .
