Melon Head: Are these THD plots from a Spice simulation? Is it the "official" F5 Turbo V2 circuit?

I can do more messing around with all of the circuits, I suppose, but the point is to show the effect of the diode

When you reduce R source what happens to Vgs?

My ears are great. I have spent the last week doing a head to head between F5T V3, ALeph J, and BA3. THe listening never stops. understanding the mechanism that gets me to a point is also important. It is supposed to be easy, but eithere there are a lot of people much smarter than I who have not gotten it yet or there is a forum wide joke on me. Either way is cool. Its fun. Still want to learn.

Get your multimeter and measure it
Measure it with Rs = 1 Ohms and Rs = 0.5 Ohms.

EDIT: Actually. Don't do this. If you don't do this right your transistor might turn to smoke.

Mistated this. Adding Rs reduces Vgs, reducing it would increase Vgs and as a result, bias.

I am having difficulty replicating your THD plots. I am using LTSpice, essentially the original F5 schematic (without protection circuits), IRFP240/IRFP9240. Is there any chance of getting a copy of your LTSpice file?
