I finished building the power supply
of The DENON DVD 3910
I replaced the 2 safety capacitors
to Capacitors of Mundorf Suprime 0.1UF 1400v
All resistors in the power supply
replaced to metal film resistor ;)

Now I have to wait for the silicone to dry
And put it all

A year later I returned to my favorite project
I did optimize the DAC
I removed the op amp
ic 305
ic 306

GIC low pass filter

Amazing dynamics improvement.

Output stage
I treated the high pass filter

Originally there were two resistors in series
150 om
I kept one
R532
R535
I changed the capacitor from DC
470P
to
1000P -lcr cap.
The original crossover frequency 2258661.9686498 Hz -3db
Now it's about 1061571.1252654 Hz -3db

in the low pass filter

R348
R349

Originally there were 30K parallel resistors
I changed to 100k.
original the cap 100uf
At the time, replaced to capacitors 10UF
Of Mondorf.
(Now is optimal) 0.1592356688Hz -3 db

in the op amp lm4562
I treated the filtering
8-4 leg 68nf caps - vishay 1837

local-bypass capacitors
leg 4 to ground 0.1UF ceramic xr7
leg 8 to ground 0.1UF ceramic xr7

I could not believe how amazing the OP AMP LM4562
They are now
shine

I think the next step to take advantage of that in DAC
2 PCM1796
And make the circuit to dual
Mono
I have no experience with the PCM1796
If anyone has any tips I would be very happy to learn

I changed today in my project
the
rca female socket

;)

thank you for details about your DVD3910 modifying
do you have time to listen
can you please tell me can I follow your last output stage mod using LM4562 to Denon DVD 2900
which are most significant mod that you recommend to a starter

I also made a comprehensive project
On the 2900
But for a year now I have not worked on it
It sounds great
Although in the future I will remove the CIG filter on the 2900 too

In DAC
The most significant improvements you can make
1 Remove the CIG FILTER
2 Remove the muting transistor
3 add decoupling capacitors to VCC / VEE of the opamps supply
And most of the changes I made in my projects, I published
Except for the changes I made on
Voltage regulators that built up from the LDO Regulators
2900
2940
The power supply of the two denon I made a lot of changes and had no timed to publish all

Two voltage regulators not changed
in the Power Supply
to LDO reg
2900
2940
So I did a little upgrade For now
to the regs
7808
7909
I added in the outpute of
the 7808 7909
low pass filter

10 ohm
VISHAY - CPF210R000BHE14 - METAL FILM RESISTOR; 10 OHM; 2W; 0.1% - METAL FILM RESISTOR, 10 OHM, 2W, 0.1%
(I have almost 50 Resistors I got Accidentally I was not using them)

and capacitor
RUBYCON - 50ZLJ470M12.5X20 - CAP, ALU ELEC, 470UF, 50V, RAD

This filter out the noise of the voltage regulators nice
i Did not have a Bigger capacitors is i use 470uf
-3db 33hz filter .
12.04V input voltage
At the outpute of voltage regulators
Example
lm7808 - 7.86V clean

thank you for update
did you think of complete new linear power supply using shunt regulators for Important sections
also how would you evаluate LM4562 compared to previous choices

i love the ldo reg
lm2900
lm2940
in LDO Make sure the ESR of a capacitor suitable to the reg
example
lm2940 the esr is min 0.1 max 1 ( My recommendation ESR between 0.1-0.5 )
It is better to use tantalum capacitors
Their ESR IS stable.
I did not have at the moment ldo
-9
-8
So I made an improvement for naw to the 79xx 78xx
This guide has a lots of tips on power supply
Voltage And Current Regulators
I'm going to build the DAC
Linear power supply
Where I will use in voltage reg
2900
2940
-9
+9
OR BUILD WITH Some LINEAR TECHNOLOGY - LT3042EMSE in parallel.
LM4562 Simply amazing op amp
on the denon dvd 2900 i use
OPA1662AID
AD826ARZ
My favorite op amp is the lm4562

Hello sorry for just jumping on the thread but I just could not help my self as I am also modding this player.

In post number 166, picture number two, in the upper right corner of the schematic, there is four transistors named TR343, TR344, TR345 and TR346, that goes of to the scart board is also muting the signal. The transistors have two 220 ohm resistors that separates them from the dac output, in your case right after the 10uF Mundorf cap.

I wonder if it would also being beneficial to remove them?

I am thinking of using a relay muting after the 150 ohm on the output, just to avoid any noise on the output, and a relay is way better than any transistors as far as I know?

Thanks for an very interesting thread.

With kind regards

Martin
