We have the same thing here in the uk, but they go under the geeky name Radio rallies. Being in a highly developed country has its benefits as you can find kewl stuff like Water cooled lazers @ the dump. As for your ribbon cable, just get something @ the radio rally/dump with long ribbon cables and cannabis it for parts. Ebay has a few of these type of (I don’t know what the hell this is, so have it for a £5 and rip it to bits for parts auctions)
Check out http://www.netcomuk.co.uk/~wwl/electric.html

Hi Ywh,
congratulations on your success! The design is the one I used
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=281&perpage=15&pagenumber=76
but your results are better (your picture is more clear)
My question ist: Did you buy the projector and use it as it was or did you change the electronics and the lamp of the projector ?
Thank You,
Frankbatzen

3 lenses
Hallo,
yes I am using 3 lenses, too. One right over the lamp, the fresnel-lens and the projektion lens. If you ment to ask if my projektion lens consists of 3 lensen, no it does not. (I know the better projektors use an opicts system with 3 lenses on the "arm") It's a plain old cheap overheadprojektor. The key is the lamp, and you have struck gold. I would certainly have paid 60$ for such a great lamp!

I have a 3M with in the "head" (the top assembly of lences) 2 lences, where I see usually one. Is this better you think? During some preliminary tests, I noticed some "double lines" in the subtitles. Does anyone have the same thing? Could it be realtred to the amount of lences in the path?
Thx,
Bart

Hallo Yuweihua,
you seem to be the information-paradise
The picture of your friend's projector seems not quite as good as yours, but still much better than mine (i.e great). And his lamp is very readily available--great. I wonder about the reflector and lens-system around yours and your friends projection-lamp. Was it in the projectors you used, or did you take it from somewhere else?
