It's not a separate line, it's the same line. Look again at the schematics.
I have just looked again.
Two separate LM3117, two separate capacitor C31 and C34 on input LM.
Two separate C19 and C20 on outputs LM`s.
Independent lines until 17&18 PINs of AK.
There is shortcut.

C19 and C20 are not separate. They share the A+5 line and the ground.

Wieslaw thanks and sorry because mentioned drawing is wrong!
So many pics...
And two words about sound.
on SPDIF sound is almost the same as good DAC on AD1853 and multibit DAC based on AD1865

That was tested on 3 good amplifiers and loudspeakers

The DAC (Mini2496 with all implemented Dario BOM) provides good soundstage, open sound and a little bit "plastic".
Quality of bass is very good but a little bit not sufficient in comparing to others.
But in compare with AD1853 guys were not able to identify who is who. Only after some training the differencies has been detected.
As result all guys told me about great sound and have been confused when I told about cost of that.
In any case, I use the DAC time by time instead AD1865 DAC and can strongly recommend it.
Thanks Dario!

Thanks Dario!
I am satisfied with the sound of Dario's DAC, too. Thanks.
You're welcome.
BTW this DAC is not my project... I've only did an optimized BOM for it.
Just hope Dario will do the same with dual AK4399 .
I've almost already done it with the single AK4399, most suggestions apply also to the dual one, which I don't like, BTW
An entire BOM is not necessary, my recommendations for the DAC9 are still the ones in this post.
The single AK4399, as sold by minishow, is already full of good quality parts with no suggested swaps, apart what is suggetsetd in the linked post..
Just one more note, if you want USB support buy the XMOS module, it's WAY better than the CM6631 one.

I think it's great that you were able to stage a good evaluation of the Mini2496. My own comparison was more limited. I compared the Mini2496 against the SAA7220/TDA1541A S1 in my (aging) CD player. Actually I did arrive at the same conclusions: the openness of the soundstage and the detail in the sound reproduced.
I can however not recognize the "bit plastic" part in your description. Can you explain what you mean?
Building this simple DAC proved to me that good sound is greatly influenced by the quality of the implementation (I think the 5532 sounded horrible), including the quality of the powersupply. Since the very fast signals in the chips pollute the supply-lines, HF suppression is absolutely an issue. I used some extra ferrite beads in the output leads of the 7809, 7815 and 7915 voltage regulators.
Dario's publications (but also valuable contributions of other brave DIY'ers) on this forum, deserve a lot of credit!
Thanks guys!

Hi, i put up that kit and i have issue: when music is playing sometimes occour some weird cracks, maybe a bit like vinyl playing. And the music isn't rip On friends tube amp it was far more often and louder. Can you point me in the right direction? I'm thinking for 3 day and have absolutely no idea...
I just did it (only changed the 150 and 2.4K resistor from the original) and it works, sound is good but can understand the work "plastic". Anyway it is good for the price!. The supply lines are a little bit polluted by the HF (oscillo display it).
TO Somek, is the PDIF cable ok and what is the frequency used ? 96K?
Had to compare with maverick dac and also check if separate 9 V power and/or ops upgrade makes a difference.
thanks to all contributor.
