I agree on the issue of pockets. I once had to build brushless motors to operate in an ambient of 5500 psi. Try building up 400 Volts and 470 uF using tantalums! At any rate, we opted for taking all our raw components to 8000 psi in 10 cycles and then testing and inspecting. Across the whole range of parts... some 20-30% went in the trash. It was a fun process, as the pressure was released, slowly, you would hear components popping like popcorn. We actually had some success pretreating parts with vacuum impregnation and low viscosity superglue.

And yes... I would cringe at the thought of sticking a Blowtorch or some of my goodies in "the dip". What's at risk is certain... what's to gain remains a question... start with REALISTIC stuff first.
