Yeah guys, that's the ticket - Physics without Philosophy is simply futile. :D

More than you think:

"Descartes' reflections on mind and mechanism began the strain of Western thought that much later, impelled by the invention of the electronic computer and by the possibility of machine intelligence, blossomed into the Turing test and related thought".

You DID know about Alan Turing, of course? ;)

Hi Peter, long time no see! Thanks for the link!!

By the way the above version is not identical to the one in the article, seems more to be a refined version (notice the missing 1M resistors).

I still don't see the necessity for the V-grade though.

Have fun, Hannes

salas,
the dusty environment did not mitigate his tuberculosis but he turned away all kinds of (sometimes considerable) assistance and chose to live at a minimum level of material existence.
By emotion, passion (using the word affectus) he means alterations (and the ideals of those alterations) of the body determining its acting power. It`s substantiated much later on by psychologists without offering such a beautiful explanation. Spinoza´s Ethica is not an easy reading for anyone.
Yes, Spinoza´s had a different, more imminent problem: died when he was writing the chapter about democracy of Tractatus Politicus. Castoriades did not have the genius of Spinoza. (He should have studied Spinoza thoroughly).
