I'll attach them to mom's heat sinks you spoke about at the beginning.
Papa Jr.
?
ya nutz yankee!
what's this - toner transfer and Mom's iron ?
ugly!

Don't worry - it's a complement
Mom's Iron? Naa - It's my Wifes Iron, it took me an hour to find it. The only place it's been used is for pcb's!! Otherwise no one uses it

welcome to drek club

I once bought 2SJ108 without any suffix and of course, they end up being GR - if ever in doubt, assume the worst.
Anyone wanna buy 8 2SJ108GR?
I'm sure I'll find a use for them - maybe I'll test Oly's infamous Fuse Killer
Yeah, seriously,
I might have missed the jfet class. What makes a GR or a BL or a whatever? For example, is there a fairchild j309 (there seems to be more than one) that compares to a j309BL?? I don't see the indication on any data sheets of a device readily available here. Maybe it's just a Toshiba indicator??? Oh man....
If ya's can't answer, can you point me to where the answer is??
Thanks,

these are current classes ; if you have one without suffix, God knows what you'll get , but probably GR
as you probably know - semiconductor datasheets are pretty useful ...... there you can see mucho things,if not everything you need to know about womans, wine and food .........
J309 (see big J) is lalala part, readily available at your nearest Harvey Keitel store ; same as J310
there is no bluevioletgreen drek for them ; buy 100 (they're cheap enough) and choose what you want
\hehe
you know that I always can give you answer........
useful or not.......... that's another issue
btw- if you need 2 pcs of 2SJ109BL , you really need to rob someone ;
or use pairs of 2SJ74BL
or just go and make nice toob amp and just forget that SS drek
greetings from Macaci
Dear friend,
Just a short hello from Jungle. Here there is no real internet connection
and mail ahem, something for the future.
But Of course I do drink good fine bottles to your health.
I will be back to civilisatiion at the end of august.
All the best to you,
Your Manu
And zdravo from nadija
Ps : you can if you want, say hello from me to the fine people on
diyaudio. It will will be nice to meet them again when iam back.
GReen.....(see big J).....
Thanks a lot. Now I understand.
or just go and make nice toob amp and just forget that SS drek
That won't be necessary
One more question? (actually, that makes two)
What characteristic am I looking for here?buy 100 (they're cheap enough) and choose what you want
Thanks!

Hi Manu
later
now I'm makin' Goodstuff
is that proper name?
Rakija from Apples
hehe
if I find someone to took few Goodstuffmaking pics,I'll post them .........much later

drek , nobody was available to take few Radzamaking pics....
next time......
anyway- what you looking here......
exact ,or preferred, Ugs at needed Ids , what else -same as for mosfets when you choose them for exact role ;
Babelfish was made with idea that each 2SJ109 half (and Papa sez that 2SJ109 is in case ) is drawing pumping burning some 5mA ........ so- after some lateral thinking ,taking in account that Papa probably was lazy these days and didn't include yabadabadoovoltageshieldingMillernursingCascodeBJTs ,what else is possible than 2SJ109BL .........mebbe just because even in Pro World V iteration is somewhat scarce ,and because with that same V iteration you are anyway in trouble with max dissipation of poor 7-legged critter.
ha- long sentence........
I have few more thoughts why Papa probably choose BL iteration , but -in case that I wrote you these ,I'll be in jeopardy to kill ya ........ you'll know then too much ......... and then you'll be smarter than I am ;
you, anyway, have more Altecs than me,and that's good enough reason to hate ya
ps.
rephrase that "What characteristic am I looking for here?"
where- I'm somewhat lost in time and space today......
hehe- gimme more direct question - what you wanna achieve and where - to find sub for 2SJ109BL or what?

Did you get my mail about the all n channel jfet buffer?

yup ;
sorry - as I said - due to major overhaul of house I'm somewhat lost in time and space
have you some schematic prepared?
besides that- I have two questions regarding previous iron loaded amp :
1 .what is gain of amp as is ,
2. did you tried different values for feedback resistors (more X ) ?

Oh, I had not noticed you told that you're rebuilding the house...
The idea for the buffer was just a stray thought, kinda just wanted to throw the ball into the air. Does it make sense at all to you? I asked to hear if there is something obvious that I have overlooked...
1) 16db
2) Yes but I get too high damping factor for my FE166e based speakers

well - I must go back to reread your mail few times ..........
1. sorta low for proper feedback arrangement ??
2. you can always put series resistor in line with dreky spk
3. FE166 is spk for pooftahs .......... and hermaphrodites

1) Yeah, but it depends if I calculated it right...do I add gain for the JFET?
2) That's an option, but I don't have enough power for that
3) Yeahy, and I tell you they sound horrible...just plain nasty speakers
Magura

1. why you just don't measure it ........who need calc beside meter?
2. you? ?!!!
3.naah........

1) I would, but can't as my meter is in for repairs...again, got a dud
2) Yes there are limits to anything, I have like 50W and that's what the speakers needs to play reasonably dynamic music with a little headroom...so there is not really anything to throw away
3) Trust me, the Abbey clones are the worst speakers I've ever had...and now half of the danes have them too....ooh the the pain, the suffering
Magura
This is the basic idea of the JFET thingie I wrote about. Add the ground and loose the resistor across the load...there you go, a couple of hefty regulated PSU's and presto!
