Now included in the price is the Energy tweeter which is used in the E:XL model line-up. Again, Energy direct charges ~$110 for just the tweeter alone.

To sum up, you're buying approx $600 worth of product for 1/6th the cost.

Damping Compound - The Stuff that NEVER dries!

Available are new 20oz cans of Damping Compound used in the loudspeaker driver manufacturing industry as a suspension sealant and for diaphragm resonance control. Clear, tintable & thinnable for as much or as little as your application calls for. Simply brushes on and remains permanently flexible and tacky. Ideal for rebuilds or new designs.

At $80 per, that works out to only 4 bucks an ounce. Get 'em while they last...

Payment via Cash / M.O.

Please note, these are currently for sale within Canada only and are sent via PUROLATOR (~$20 small package estimate).

Damping Compound Pictures

Pictures added.

To clarify, this is the actual compound used by the loudspeaker driver manufacturing industry as sealant on cloth suspensions and diaphragms. I've even used a drop or two to tame the occasional overzealous flexlead.

FEATURES:

-Clear, tintable & thinnable for as much or as little as your application calls for.

-Simply brushes on and remains permanently flexible and tacky.

-Long open time. Does not run when cured.

-Long shelf life.

-Ideal for rebuilds or new designs.

At the moment, the compound can only be shipped within Canada due to volatility. If that status changes, it will be mentioned in the thread.

Richard Allan Alcomax Fullrange Pair

For sale are a pair of Richard Allan Golden Eight 8" Fullrange speakers in excellent physical & operational condition.

-Cast Baskets

-Accordeon cloth suspension with real damping compound (I sell that stuff BTW, see my other ads).

They're as compliant as when they first left the factory in 1966 and will be for another half century.

-Curvilinear paper cone

-High Flux Alcomax Alnico drive

-15 ohm nominal, near identical DCR's @ 13.75

The original owner had these mounted in homebuilt Karlson cabinets and there they remained since new.

Apparently the Japanese Broadcast Commission considered the Golden Eight's to be the fullrange driver of the 60's.

These are "Plug N' Play" and should work well in both a sealed or ported cabinet. Not recommended for open baffle.

I'd like to see C$140/pr for them. You could do worse for more than the cost of this proven winner.

Each driver weighs 3 lbs
