it's the capacitors. 22000uf / 50v per rail ( and mosfet outputs ) in a Pioneer sx780 does wonders for dynamics while the power transformer stays the same.
the transformer is also operating the 6922 tube preamp and voltage tripler to 160v.
tube amplification brings a very sweet tone
