Acko:

I have two options for the possible upcoming SuperCape. I wanted to run them by you to see if they make sense.

I still have the AKD23P with JG buffer you sold me. It's been waiting for the perfect project. So with the supercape in mind this is what I was thinking of doing...

BBB with SuperCape -> AKL-AMN-S02 -> AKX302 with 49 and 45 clocks in sync with BBB and AKD23P. Any reason why I should forgo using the S02 and 302 vs. using the original S03 I have waiting in the wings for another project? The only things I can think of is the S02 has a lack of UFL connectors (so I'd have to have UFL on one end and dovetail the wiring on the other) and I have to have a connection between the clock board and the S02. With the S03 everything is simplified. Also, with the BBB would there be an issue with pin outs like there was with the Amanero and the original S01/S02/S03 boards?

Other things I'd like to accomplish is:
• From the buffer split off and go to either RCA jacks or OPC's Wire SE-SE amp.
• Use an OTTO II to split i2s between the BBB and an Amanero. Not sure if this is even possible, but I figured I'd ask.

Finally, I have an extra S01/S02 board. If anyone wants it PM me...

Is this to fit the BIII DIN header?
Sorry, apart from VD, I cannot see how the rest of the holes will fit the 0.1 inch pitch header of DIN?
Assuming also you just want the stereo connections only- will simplify layout for a new board

I can see your point (had not spotted that). Here is the original page http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/grou...-pdif-fifo-kit-group-buy-168.html#post4113678. My best guess is that that board gets soldered to a female DIN socket, but cannot figure out exactly how.

Indeed I just need to connect DCK, D1 and D2.

Check this link out, it's the description of the board: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/digi...imate-weapon-fight-jitter-75.html#post3084111 .

Always check the Ian FIFO wiki hochopepper put together, he did an excellent job!

As you are aware, the package is just sent today. I might get it next Monday or Tuesday, hopefully.:xfingers:

I have four spare and already reserved to Enrico, Ian and Stijn. May be Acko is happy to make another group buy, otherwise I will send it to you three. ;)

Will pm you the moment I have them here. :)

Chanh,

Hope you have received the boards by now.
Just realised. while checking carefully, there is a pitch error with the DDDCA-UFL boards - 2mm instead of 2.54mm:eek:
I will to redo your boards for replacement but will take another 2 weeks to sort out.

Shipment to others have also been recalled!

Really sorry for the issues:faint:

Thanks for the information. All clear now :)
I would like to go for a more optimized layout just for 2CH with a simple thru-hole connection direct to DIN of BIII. Solder to BIII DIN pins or add socket if you wish to. Not exactly the best interface compared with UFL direct on DAC board but better than wiring to pins. See Ian's comments

BIII-UFL 2CH
Price is USD 15 with UFL loaded. Min order 10pcs

Acko

Can you tell me what the difference will be between (assuming you know) the Supercape and the cape TP are working on?

David

And how will it fit if we use the S03 as well?

Laters,

Drew.

Not sure about what others are doing but concepts for SuperCape have been explained here ->
Output goes to S03 board and then to DAC as shown here -> and here ->

FYI, although not shown, the SuperCape mounts on top of BBB and presents the interface as indicated. S03 is kept a bit away from BBB for performance reasons (EMI, etc)

S03 is a 3 in 1 design with Isolators, Flip-flops and a Dual Synchronous Master Clock.

Master Clock supplies audio clocks for BBB, flip-flop re-clockers and also to DAC MCK (as required e.g ESS DACs)

Hi Acko, great stuff from you, really appreciated.

In laying out my BBB/SO3 combination, pictured here;

http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/group-buys/227502-amanero-isolator-reclocker-gb-144.html#post4149622

I reasoned that the groundplane of the SO3 would provide some degree of shielding; is that a reasonable assumption?

Interested in your Supercape but would probably retain my existing ribbon cable arrangement instead of moving to ufl connections as I would need to use 150-200mm ufl cables to reach the sockets on the SO3, If I do that will there he an option for a stackable P9 header?

Do you have a cost for the Supercape yet?

BTW, my DAC build was progressing well but I've hit a stumbling block with the power supply for my I/V stage, which has a fault that I've not been able to track down and fix yet so reporting my results will be delayed a little.

Cheers

Ray
